Baaaaa
We are now on Naxos. I didn't care for Mykanos at all, it was set up for tourists, that's about it. Our hotel in Naxos is behind a field of sheep, close to the Fiat dealership. I like this place, it mixes traditional with modern, residents with tourists, city with country, beach with bars. :)
Speaking of bars, on Mykanos we took the bus out to Paradise Beach. It consisted of a strip of 4-5 bars on the beach, each one vying for the attention of the few people out there (it's still early in the season). We sat in a booth between the surf and a bar. On the bar side were about 25 people, 7 girls in bikinis dancing on a "stage" and all the guys watching and occasionally joining in. It was like wanna be MTV. On the other side we saw a guy come out of the surf naked and casually pick up his towel to dry off. He didn't even look cold. Strange experience.
